International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative backed by all ITU Member States in ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014), which aims to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), enabling both girls and technology companies to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the ICT sector.

Local IT Businesses Continue To Benefit From Government Grants

The Government of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has made significant progress in boosting the development of the Information Communication and Technology (ICT), sector.

To this end, grants totalling more than XCD 2.5 million have been distributed to twenty-one (21) local businesses within the past year.

The funds were awarded through the Business Incubation and Training Grants programme that is a component of the Caribbean Regional Infrastructure Programme (CARCIP), SVG project that was launched in 2014.
